Interested in adopting a dog from the San Antonio Great Dane Rescue?

Simply complete the application form on this site regarding the dog you are interested in.

After you have completed the application and we have gone through it you will be contacted to schedule an appointment to visit your home and do a home check.  We ask that all family members who live there attend the meeting. 

You are not required to adopt the dog out if you do not feel that this is the right situation for yourself or the dog, that is why we offer a trial adoption. 

Dogs that are within the 30 day window of having went through the heartwom treatment to kill the adult heartworms - will not be adopted outside of the SA area until their 30 days is up.

Please be patient as all the volunteers have families, jobs, dogs and lives and we will do our best to contact you as soon as possible.

ADOPTION FEES

MIXED BREED FEES

Mixed Breed Dogs (over 6 months) - Start at $150.00

Mixed Breed Puppies under 6 months - Start at $180.00 

PURE BREED FEES START AT

Pure Bred Dogs (over 6 months)  - start at $180.00** 

Pure Bred Puppies (under 6 months)  start at $225.00** 

**  Please note that adoption fees will match local (state of Texas or national rescues if locals do not exist) breed specific rescues.

 GREAT DANE FEES

Danes under 1 year old - $450.00

Danes over 1 year old - $400.00

Dane mix dogs and puppies $250.00 

Danes that are not tacked $300.00

These fees are non-negotiable and go towards covering the extensive medical expenses the dogs coming into rescue incur. 

Heartworm treatments alone on 100 pound dogs cost between $300.00 - $500.00. 

So please understand that the fees you are paying in adopting any animal from any rescue almost never cover the cost associated with vetting these animals. 

Unfortunately we can not offer any payment plan.  Each dog incurs some form of a vet bill and that must be paid off.
