Interested in adopting a dog from the San Antonio Great Dane Rescue?
Simply complete the application form on this site regarding the dog you are interested in.
After you have completed the application and we have gone through it you will be contacted to schedule an appointment to visit your home and do a home check. We ask that all family members who live there attend the meeting.
You are not required to adopt the dog out if you do not feel that this is the right situation for yourself or the dog, that is why our adoption contract contains a 7-day clause in which you may return the dog for a full refund. After that 7-days, you may still return the dog, but you will not receive refund of the adotption fee.
We have the right to refuse/deny any adoption request when after review of the application and/or home visit we determine that our dog is not a good fit for the family and vice-versa.
Please be patient as all the volunteers have families, jobs, dogs and lives and we will do our best to contact you as soon as possible.

GREAT DANE/MASTIFF FEES (ALL GIANT BREEDS)
Under 1 year old - $450.00 - $550.00
Over 1 year old and tacked - $550.00
Mix dogs and puppies start at $250.00
Danes/Mastiffs that are not tacked $350 - $500
These fees are non-negotiable and go towards covering the extensive medical expenses the dogs coming into rescue incur.
Heartworm treatments alone on 100 pound dogs cost between $300.00 - $500.00.
So please understand that the fees you are paying in adopting any animal from any rescue almost never cover the cost associated with vetting these animals.
Unfortunately we can not offer any payment plan and cannot lower the price of our dogs for any reason. Each dog incurs some form of a vet bill and substantial costs for maintenace during their foster period. The cost of intaking dogs continue to rise and we must pay those costs to continue to rescue more dogs.
