Lexi and her 4 3 day old pups were one of the 1st owner surrenders at the brand new San Antonio kill shelter this past January. Curled around her 4 tiny babies wanting to keep them warm and safe - I stopped and cursed people to lazy to spay their dog so that she is now a nuisance and has puppies to boot. So I decide to give her more of a chance than her low life owners did.... and home her and the babies came. This had to be Lexi's 1st heat cycle - she was stil a baby herself. Of course everyone came down with the dreaded kennel cough - compliments of shelter life at the San Antnio ACS.... at 5 weeks old - 2 of the babies were so sick that my vet could not keep them alive.... the other tiny 2 pups made it and found an awesome home.

I have had Lexi for 10 months now and she is an awesome dog - I finally decided to post her - I know she is black and black dogs never get adopted - but we thought we would give it a try! Lexi is extremely laid back, calm - yet very playful. She gets along well with all of the dogs - loves people and is just a joy to be around! If you don'tmind owning a black dog - you may want to take a second look at this little girl. She is about 45-50 pounds and is a small lab mix about 18 months old.
