Emaciated Ashley was on her last day of stray hold in a rural Oklahoma kill shelter – lucky for her a local rescuer walked thru.  She stopped and looked at Ashley in horror and knew she had to do something to help this sweet soul – she did not deserve to die an anonymous dog in a kill shelter.  Ashley weighed 72 pounds when she was pulled.  She spent the next month at the local vets office being boarded while transportation to San Antonio was ironed out.   While there – she gained an incredible 25 pounds and when we finally got her – she is still thin and ribby!!    Ashley is a beautiful Blue girl with blue-green eyes.  We think she is about 7 yrs old – it looks like she had one too many litters and was maybe turned out when they were done using her.  The 1^st day we got her home and scrubbed her filthy body – she stood under the warm water and  bubbles like a true princess!   After she dried and could come in the house – we were not surprised to find her curled up asleep on the king size bed!!
